Carmel held the Investiture Ceremony on 22/01/2019

The Prime event of Investiture Ceremony of Carmel Convent School, Kunjwani was held on 22nd January, 2019. The Chief Guest for the event was Mr. Ranjit Kalra, Advisor for Sports & Youth Affairs, Govt. of Lakshadweep, Co-Chairman Sports Council Central University Jammu, Member JKCA (BCCI) and Ex J&K Cricketer.
The theme of this auspicious day was “Leader leads the others”. The students through their performance highlighted the importance of leader leading the group and invoked God’s blessings on the gathering by a prayer service. The newly elected student leaders were conferred with their badges, sashes and insignia of their office by the Chief Guest and the Chairman of Diocese of Jammu-Srinagar Education Society along with other dignitaries present on the occasion. The oath administered by Ms. Gurekam Kour (SPL) filled the atmosphere with awe and dignity. The heart rending speech was a moment of pride and upheld school’s motto “Belief Enhances Life” in high esteem.
The School Pupil Leader and Asst. School Pupil Leader shared their experiences on being elected for the prestigious posts and inspired others to never give up on one’s dream no matter what. In his address, the Chief Guest shared his experience of being a proud ex- Carmelite from batch 1985 and gave a motivational speech commenting on the privilege of the cabinet members and their first exposure to leadership. He appreciated the exemplary discipline of the students and appreciated the staff. He also applauded the School Management for giving the girls the right platform and proper guidance to aim higher in life.
The Investiture ceremony was clubbed with the School inspection headed by Rev. Fr. T.S Jacob, Chairman, DJSES, Rev Fr. S. Joseph, Principal St. Peters School, B.C Road, Jammu, Sr. Lucy Immanuel, Principal, St. Mary’s Convent, Smailpur. The committee rendered high appreciation to the Management and staff for providing holistic education to the girls for their all round development.
Rev. Fr. Shaiju Chacko, School Manager thanked each and every one for making the event grand success and thanked the chief guest for his motivational speech. He also congratulated the newly appointed school cabinet members for their preparedness to take responsibilities. Sr. Maria Swati A.C, Principal wished well to all the members of the school cabinet and gave a call to every member to be exemplary to other students and serve them well. She reminded them they are the torch bearers of all the values that the school stands for and urged them to take up the responsibility with commitment and integrity.
The parents of the elected candidates were present to witness this solemn event were filled with pride and were overjoyed to see their wards oozing with confidence. To conclude, Mrs. Harpreet Kour proposed the vote of thanks. This vital event ended with the school song.
