Carmel Convent Hr, Sec. School, Kunjwani culminated the Fancy Dress competition on 31st July, 2019. In this academic session with the support and motivation of the Management, Carmel initiated the process to instill a global dimension into the learning experience and registered for the British Council International School Award (ISA). Among many activities of the ISA project, Fancy Dress Competition flagged off on theme “Cherish Your Freedom”. The purpose of conducting the competition was not only to blend learning with fun but also develop confidence in the Carmelites of pre primary and primary sections by giving them an opportunity to get on the stage and speak in front of an audience.
The children were seen dressed as freedom fighters from India, France and South Africa and emphasized upon their sacrifice and importance in making our lives easier. The activity helped the children to learn the dynamics of international relations. The little ones were given a golden opportunity to explore their creativity and innovation to the fullest and become global citizens. They walked forward with a lot of enthusiasm and excitement and displayed their vibrant and colourful costumes. The judges were truly mesmerised to see the young ones display such impeccable talent. The competition bought an amiable ambience and each participant left the stage with prolonged deafening applauses. The objective of the competition was met as the students learnt about international figures like Nelson Mandela, Ahmed Timol, Hector Pieterson, Mahatma Gandhi, Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Sarojini Naidu, Jean Moulin, Simone Segouin and many more. This activity also enhanced their English conversation skills.
The dynamic show concluded with the encouraging words of the Principal Sr. Maria Swati A.C. who lauded the admirable performances of the tiny tots and thanked the parents and teachers for the success of the event.
