Carmel celebrated Independence Day on the theme “Let’s Salute the Nation” with great vigour to honour the sacrifices made by great men and women for the country

Carmel Convent Hr. Sec. School, Kunjwani celebrated Independence Day on the theme “Let’s Salute the Nation” The day started with great vigour to honour the sacrifices made by great men and women for the country and to encourage patriotic feeling among the students. The whole campus wore a patriotic look. The day’s proceeding began with the invocation of the almighty through a prayer service, followed by a soulful prayer dance. The programme also witnessed a musical rendition of patriotic songs by the students of class VIII. The students showcased a colourful spectacle of India's freedom through a delightful dance performance. On this patriotic occasion, a Declamation Competition was conducted on the freedom fighters of France, India & South Africa. This ISA activity helped the children to learn the dynamics of international relations and explore international history. The objective of the competition was met, as the students learnt about international figures and their achievements.
The twin celebration of Rakshabandhan and Independence Day was an amalgamation of
patriotism and love. The students of grade I to X participated in the Rakhi Making competition where they took keen interest in making colourful and aesthetically designed eye-catching rakhis.. The campus was brimming with emotions as the girls sent rakhis to the army men Stationed at Jammu in collaboration with Dainik Jagran ahead of the festival of Raksha Bandhan. They felt blessed to send rakhis to the jawans as they are the true protectors of our nation.
At the end, the school Principal Sr. Maria Swati A.C. addressed the gathering, advocating the nationalistic spirit and urged the students to take pride in being an Indian. She also emphasized the role of youth today as the true wealth of a country. The celebration ended with the national anthem evoking the feeling of patriotism among all present.
