To make it a joyful day, a cultural extravaganza was presented by the Carmelites as a part of British Council International School Award activity. The program began by invoking the blessing of the Almighty followed by a prayer dance by Carmelites of class VI. A melodious song sung by the school choir deeply touched each heart present. The highlight of the day was the nukkad natak presented on the theme “Eco friendly Diwali” that highlighted the need to create awareness and encourage people to participate in combating air pollution.
To mark Diwali celebrations various competitions such as diya decoration, diya painting, pot decoration, candle making, diwali symbol making, lantern making, PPT making, rangoli making, traditional dress and diwali card making were organised from pre primary to class XII. The whole school reverberated with energy and enthusiasm hoping that this Diwali would bring utmost peace and prosperity in everybody’s life. The festival of fun and excitement came to an end with loads of joy and happiness sparkling on the faces of Carmelites.
The function concluded with the address by Principal Sr. Maria Swati A.C who conveyed her warm wishes to the children and reiterated that children should celebrate pollution free Diwali in its purest form by lighting lamps and sharing with the less fortunate. She discouraged the students from bursting crackers and urged them to buy earthen lamps and other such environment-friendly products.
